If lottery players are any indication, most people, and I include myself, have waited on miracles in one form or another. For most of my life, as a matter of fact, I waited on the “will of God.” It wasn’t always big things; sometimes I sweated over the small stuff. During times of severe money problems, I prayed for a financial miracle…and once I actually got it.

I come from a family of creative people. My mom was an exceptional quilter and had a phenominal sense of color. My dad could do anything with a car body--mixing and matching different vehicles and parts until he created whatever he envisioned.

This recent headline captured my attention: "African Churches Denounce Children as Witches." If you haven't yet read it, take the time to read it now before reading my article any further. It illustrates how quickly and easily religion (in this case Christianity) becomes just a tool for greed...
